How do you optimize a web page? The major search engines rank individual pages, not websites – so it is VERY important that every page of your website is optimized.

The first step to your on site optimization or SEO of each page of your site falls within your content. Write good quality user focused content with your visitors in mind that has a purpose that fits into the goal(s) of that particular page. After you have written your content, I think recommend that you conduct extensive keyword research.

After you’ve narrowed down your list of keywords, you assign up to 5 different related keyword phrases to a web page and then start naturally incorporate these keywords throughout the user focused content. Start with a dynamic title. Your title or H1 tag should have your keyword in it.

Once you have gotten started, here are all of the areas to optimize each page of your website:

1. Content
2. Title Tag
3. Meta Tag Description
4. Meta Keywords
5. URL Structure
6. Image/Alt-Tag
7. Internal Linking Structure
8. XML Sitemap
9. Verified Code

The best piece of advice that I can give performing their on site optimziation on their own is don’t overdue any aspect of your SEO and keep it natural!
